23/10/10 – In today’s Buyer Beware column of the Bangkok Post, entitled ‘Herbal spray takes fight to mites’, this breakthrough discovery: ‘House mites are caused by allergy symptoms such as asthma.’
21/9/10 – So Heather Vlach this morning, in her The Write Stuff! column of the Bangkok Post wittily entitled ‘Pain-free contractions’, tells us it’s incorrect to write ‘Its probably going to rain today.’
Then you move to the Outlook section and in the Helping Hand chronicle, the title is ‘On hand online’ and the subtitle, ‘Thai website offers help where its needed’. Ouch!
1/10/10 – ‘Be inwhited to a new dimension in life’: clever pun, Central, for your White Gold. But why should I ‘Apply now for the new, ultra-trendy Central Credit Cad White Gold’? There are already too many of those in the world, and I don’t think I qualify – or rather hope I don’t.
15/2/10 – In an AP dispatch on ‘Vampire author Anne Rice’ penned by Hillel Italie, New York, Ms Rice is quoted as saying: “Vook represents a very exciting combination of new technological elements, that I think is long overdo in publishing”. A case of American mispronunciation, as usual. And, with do respect, Ms Hillel Italie of New York, like the spellchecker says, it’s either ‘elements, which’ or ‘elements that’.
